Plasma®

Creating a dynamic seal - flexibly

When a dynamic seal is required, such as for wellheads, specialised micro Platelets® can be deployed, suspended in our unique Plasma® to create a barrier that prevents fluid ingress without solidifying or setting. Plasma® performs well as a valve sealant in low-flow applications or in situations where a secondary barrier is required.

Plasma® can be used to regain wellhead integrity under full system pressure. Injection prior to installation can prevent loss of valve integrity in new valves. Other applications include restoring the functionality of damaged o-rings and other seal failures. Plasma® has been field-proven to temperatures from -40°C to 150°C and pressures up to 5000 psi.

The advanced sealing properties rely on the fact that when a pressure differential is applied across the Plasma®, the Platelets® in suspension within the solution migrate to the leak site, preventing further fluid ingress and immediately restoring integrity. Plasma® seals any future leaks and inhibits corrosion.

This dynamic sealing solution is easily deployed into the wellhead using a Plasma® gun, a specially designed and manufactured tool developed and maintained by Brinker.

As Plasma® does not solidify or set, the long-term functionality of the wellhead system into which it is deployed is not affected.
